Useful Information for Clerks & Municipalities

The following files were exhibits used by Tom Harnisch, Education Director from the Wisconsin Towns Association in the Nov 2007 Wisconsin Workshops. These files can be extremely valuable for any municipality deciding to go forward with a web site.

• Web Site Approval & Notice Resolution (MS Word, PDF)
  This file basically states that the Municipal Clerk will maintain the web site underneath the supervision of the Municipal Board, and that the web site will be used for a public purpose (and not to be used for illegal, unethical or improper activities).
• Web Site Disclaimer/Waiver (MS Word, PDF)
  The Disclaimer file is an indemnification that municipalities can post on the web site. In layman terms it states that the municipality attempts to keep the information on the web site accurate, but that it does not guarantee that all the information is correct, and that if there are questions people should contact the municipality directly.
• Web Design & Maintenance Contract Concerns (MS Word, PDF)
